🧠 Deep-Dive: How to Get Startup Ideas
I’ve been thinking about how we actually come up with startup ideas. Turns out, trying to think of ideas is not a good approach.
The way to get startup ideas is not to try to think of startup ideas. It's to look for problems, preferably problems you have yourself.
Ideas hit when I notice something broken in my own life.
A tool that slows me down or a process that feels ancient or whatever.
I’ve started treating every annoyance like a question: Could this be easier? Faster? Less painful? Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no. But the exercise always gets me somewhere.
"The very best startup ideas tend to have three things in common: they're something the founders themselves want, that they themselves can build, and that few others realize are worth doing."

So here’s my short recipe:
Start with what bugs you. Seriously, what’s a small pain-point in your day? That’s your idea seed.
Ask, don’t assert. Turn every thought into a question: Could I make this better?
Scan for weird stuff. If something feels odd or outdated, lean in. That might be your edge.
I do that in my spare time and all of a sudden, I’m vibe coding another project.
