I’m not a huge “motivation” guy.

Motivation is only temporary, it’s like a sugar rush. It can get you going, but it fades away.

What truly matters is drive, not motivation.

Drive brings discipline, drive cuts out the excuses. Drive, drives you.

🧠 Deep-Dive: Why Do You Even Bother?

Bit of a personal take this week.

I had a chat with a friend who failed a few projects (let’s call it projects) back-to-back, and it’s been a while like this.

He was at a mindset where he wanted to stop pursuing what he has been doing all his life, and move to a different country and start a simpler life there.

Well, honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that – I myself think about a similar setup sometimes. But I’d say that shouldn’t come from a point of despair or you won’t enjoy that decision anyways.

So, why do you even bother?

Because you might as well be dead.

Seriously, if you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread over into the rest of your life. It’ll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you.

A man must constantly exceed his level.

This is not about startups. It’s about whatever it is that you’re doing.

Every single person who has ever done anything worthwhile or exceptional has encountered difficulties. There is no easy road, it does not exist, it is impossible.

Whatever it is that you’re doing, maybe you’re building a startup or maybe not.

Find a way to enjoy the ride we’re on.

There is absolutely no benefit of quitting at anything.

Remember, the point of the game is to keep playing sometimes.
